I hope you’re all well and your working week has started off ok for you. My weeks are usually pretty similar – lots of play, naughtiness, eating and cat-napping! Ahhh! Such is life 😆
Anyway, as you all know, we were at the cat show on Caturday. It was a double show with two cat clubs sharing the same venue so we had twice the amount of judges looking at us, but that also meant we had the potential to win twice the amount of classes!
So how did we do? Well, I needed 2 Premier Certificates to earn the title of Premier Cat, and that is exactly what I got! So all my mummy needs to do now is officially claim my title!
Lula was already a Premier Cat so was trying to earn Grand Premier certificates, you need 3 of these to earn the title of Grand Premier cat. The competition can get tougher the higher you go, but Lula was successful in gaining one certificate 🙂 She then got a Reserve certificate, which is the runner up – a lovely white Sphynx cat beat her 🙂
We had some mixed results in our side classes – I got a couple of first places and a couple of second places. Lula got a couple of first places too and got a second place out of a huge class of 11 cats of different breeds!
Here’s some pics!
Our granddaddy was at the show too, and set a great example for us! He won Best of Variety and went forward to the Best in Show finals where he finished second! We’re sure you’ll agree he’s a handsome chap! Here he is in his Best of Variety special pen 🙂
So a great day was had by all, but it’s our very favourite show coming up next, the Bengal Cat Club Show which is taking place on 28th July – we can’t wait 🙂
We are so excited as tomorrow is not only Caturday, but it’s a special cat show Caturday!
It is quite a long way to travel for us, so we’re having an early night tonight which got me to thinking about one of our favourite sleeping spots which some of you may remember. It is of course the bit of the sofa that we all sleep on so much, it is almost always completely squashed down! It won’t win any awards in an interior design magazine, but us cats love it!
Here’s a few pics of us making the most of it:
So I think it’s about time we went to sleep now, so I’ll speak to you soon and let you know how we got on at the show!
My mummy is very excited… she ordered a new camera only on Sunday and it arrived yesterday! She said that Daddy’s camera is very good, but it is so advanced that she doesn’t know how best to use it (plus I think she’s also scared she might break it, but she didn’t tell Daddy that, so please don’t tell him, will you?) 🙂
Anyway, what this means of course, is that we’ll have twice as many piccies taken of us, what with both Mummy and Daddy clicking away 😆 It’s a good job we don’t mind, isn’t it?
My mummy is also thinking of maybe going on a Beginner’s Digital Photography course… our neighbour also got a new camera today (there must be something in the water :D) and she is thinking of going on a course at the local college so Mummy kind of invited herself along 🙂
But here are some of Mummy’s first attempts at taking pics with her new camera! I think she might do better if she actually read the instructions, but I know what you hoomins are like, you never do things like that properly!
Do you like mummy’s pictures? Or do you think she should stick with the day job? MOL!!
I hope you all had a great weekend and you aren’t too sad that it’s Monday! I had a lovely time – I played in the sunshine on Saturday and Sunday, and then when it started raining, I watched the tennis with my mummy! It was a shame that Andy Murray lost, but it was still a great match 🙂
But the most exciting news of all is what happened today! I only went and caught a birdie, didn’t I? 😆
And even better, my daddy managed to capture it all on camera!
So it started off when I was walking by the pond…
And then I “spotted” something interesting…
So, like the great hunter I am, I went in for the kill… grrr!
And the birdie stood no chance!
Are you impressed? My mummy said I was a very clever boy 🙂
I hope you are all well and looking forward to the weekend! I can’t believe how quickly the time is flying by – it’ll soon be time for our next cat show which is only just over a week away now! And after that, only two short weeks until the Bengal Cat Club show, we’re really looking forward to that one – the competition will be very tough though! 🙂
I’m talking about the rain again today… I wouldn’t usually be so obsessed with it, but my mummy told me that summer was meant to be nice weather! I was only a baby last summer, so I was hoping to do lots of sunbathing this year, but we have had so much rain it has been impossible! It seems to have been raining since May 😯
But it does mean my daddy can get some quite nice pics – here are a few of my favourite ones:
I know I talk about the weather a lot on here, but it is something of a British obsession 😆 But we really can’t get our heads around this “summer”!
We are in July now, and it is still raining! Can you believe it?
We do like to get out when we can and, as you know, one of our favourite activities is to climb the oak tree in our garden 🙂 So I thought I’d share with you some pictures of us taken up there! I hope you like them.
Personally, I’ve gone off climbing up the tree recently, and have decided I quite like walking along the top of the fence instead!
I hope you are enjoying this lovely Caturday! We’re having very strange weather here, it is very un-June-like!! But we don’t mind all the rain and the wind, it brings lots of bugs out which means more for us to chase!
I had a good morning exploring today in the field… no matter how much time I spend in there, there is always something new to see 😆
That nettle wasn’t very nice, it had leaves that bit me 😯 !!
I think I will stay away from those in future! I thought it was only other cats that could bite… is there anything else I should avoid when I’m on my adventures, do you think?
I hope you are all well and looking forward to the weekend! 😆 I can’t wait for Caturday!
I thought it would be fun to try something new today! How about we play a little game? 😀
Below are two similar photos, but there are 6 differences between them! So can you “spot” the differences? Let me know what you think the answers are in the comments below! (and no sneaky peeking at other people’s answers 😯 !!).
So how did you do? Was it too easy for you? Shall I do a more difficult one next time?
You know, my daddy is so good – he takes so many great pictures of us and spends hours waiting for the perfect shot. So I thought for today’s post, I’d put together a little album of some of my favourite pictures that he’s taken over the last few months. I must say, though, that it was difficult to choose just a few as there are so many great ones in our collection!
So this is a little tribute to my lovely daddy and his photographic skills – I hope you enjoy it and maybe see one or two you’ve not seen before.
After all that rain, we’ve had a couple of reasonable days and we’ve managed to get outside much more often! Lula would be out from dawn till dusk if she was allowed, whereas I prefer to have a bit of a wander, then come in for a cat-nap and then go out again 🙂
We’re still only just over a year old, so learning new things all the time! Though I must say that Lula still hasn’t learnt that bees and wasps sting and that she shouldn’t catch them 😯 I stopped doing that after my paw got stung, and it was so badly swollen, my mummy had to take me to the cat doctor! Now, he is a nice man, but he’s not the kind of chap I want to visit unless it’s absolutely necessary – don’t you agree?
Anyway… we don’t need to go to the cat doctor at the moment as we are both fit and well, despite our chimney adventure! So what have we been up to?
Well, with the weather being a bit warmer, our mummy and daddy opened the downstairs windows quite wide to let fresh air in the house. We realised that when we are at the front of the house, instead of walking all the way to the back door to come in, we can come in through the front window instead! It was Lula who first showed me how it’s done, she’s usually much more adventurous than I am, so I let her take the lead 🙂 Then if it all goes wrong, she’s the one who gets into trouble! Haha! I am such a good brother 🙂
Here’s Lula in action….
Awww… she’s such a clever girl! Needless to say, I followed her a little while later 🙂
