I hope you are all well and looking forward to the weekend! I can’t believe how quickly the time is flying by – it’ll soon be time for our next cat show which is only just over a week away now! And after that, only two short weeks until the Bengal Cat Club show, we’re really looking forward to that one – the competition will be very tough though! 🙂
I’m talking about the rain again today… I wouldn’t usually be so obsessed with it, but my mummy told me that summer was meant to be nice weather! I was only a baby last summer, so I was hoping to do lots of sunbathing this year, but we have had so much rain it has been impossible! It seems to have been raining since May 😯
But it does mean my daddy can get some quite nice pics – here are a few of my favourite ones:
I know I talk about the weather a lot on here, but it is something of a British obsession 😆 But we really can’t get our heads around this “summer”!
We are in July now, and it is still raining! Can you believe it?
We do like to get out when we can and, as you know, one of our favourite activities is to climb the oak tree in our garden 🙂 So I thought I’d share with you some pictures of us taken up there! I hope you like them.
Personally, I’ve gone off climbing up the tree recently, and have decided I quite like walking along the top of the fence instead!
I hope you are enjoying this lovely Caturday! We’re having very strange weather here, it is very un-June-like!! But we don’t mind all the rain and the wind, it brings lots of bugs out which means more for us to chase!
I had a good morning exploring today in the field… no matter how much time I spend in there, there is always something new to see 😆
That nettle wasn’t very nice, it had leaves that bit me 😯 !!
I think I will stay away from those in future! I thought it was only other cats that could bite… is there anything else I should avoid when I’m on my adventures, do you think?
I hope you are all well and looking forward to the weekend! 😆 I can’t wait for Caturday!
I thought it would be fun to try something new today! How about we play a little game? 😀
Below are two similar photos, but there are 6 differences between them! So can you “spot” the differences? Let me know what you think the answers are in the comments below! (and no sneaky peeking at other people’s answers 😯 !!).
So how did you do? Was it too easy for you? Shall I do a more difficult one next time?
You know, my daddy is so good – he takes so many great pictures of us and spends hours waiting for the perfect shot. So I thought for today’s post, I’d put together a little album of some of my favourite pictures that he’s taken over the last few months. I must say, though, that it was difficult to choose just a few as there are so many great ones in our collection!
So this is a little tribute to my lovely daddy and his photographic skills – I hope you enjoy it and maybe see one or two you’ve not seen before.
After all that rain, we’ve had a couple of reasonable days and we’ve managed to get outside much more often! Lula would be out from dawn till dusk if she was allowed, whereas I prefer to have a bit of a wander, then come in for a cat-nap and then go out again 🙂
We’re still only just over a year old, so learning new things all the time! Though I must say that Lula still hasn’t learnt that bees and wasps sting and that she shouldn’t catch them 😯 I stopped doing that after my paw got stung, and it was so badly swollen, my mummy had to take me to the cat doctor! Now, he is a nice man, but he’s not the kind of chap I want to visit unless it’s absolutely necessary – don’t you agree?
Anyway… we don’t need to go to the cat doctor at the moment as we are both fit and well, despite our chimney adventure! So what have we been up to?
Well, with the weather being a bit warmer, our mummy and daddy opened the downstairs windows quite wide to let fresh air in the house. We realised that when we are at the front of the house, instead of walking all the way to the back door to come in, we can come in through the front window instead! It was Lula who first showed me how it’s done, she’s usually much more adventurous than I am, so I let her take the lead 🙂 Then if it all goes wrong, she’s the one who gets into trouble! Haha! I am such a good brother 🙂
Here’s Lula in action….
Awww… she’s such a clever girl! Needless to say, I followed her a little while later 🙂
It’s been such bad weather here in the UK recently… we are meant to be in summer time now, but all we’ve had over the last few days is rain, rain and more rain! Some parts of the UK are flooded again which is not very nice for those poor people and their pussy cats I’m sure 🙁
I was watching that screen thingy that shows all the moving pictures with my mummy the other day, and there were people camping out at music festivals, but it was just all a mud bath! I don’t think I’d want to walk in that, my paws would get so dirty and it would take a lot of licking off! Or – perish the thought – even worse, my mummy might have to give me another bath 😯 Oh no! I don’t want that. I think perhaps I won’t complain as much after all when I’m stuck indoors…. 😆
But one good thing about all this rain is that it brings out all the greenery in the garden and the countryside, and it can look very lush and beautiful! It’s also a great backdrop for our daddy to take lovely pictures of us cats, so here’s some of my favourite ones that he’s taken over the last couple of days:
I hope you liked these photos as much as I did: my daddy takes such lovely pics, doesn’t he?
Oh dear! Those of you who follow my Facebook and/or Twitter pages will know that Lula and I have been very naughty recently! Yesterday, mummy got home from work and had to do a double take as she thought I was looking very odd! My fur was very dark – you couldn’t make out any of the lighter bits and I was also behaving quite sheepishly, too.
She then looked at Lula and noticed that she had black marks in her fur too, though not as bad as mine (which is a good job being as she is a Snow Bengal!). So mummy had a look around and realised that while she’d been out, we’d been up the chimney! 😯 Not only were we filthy, but so were the cream carpet and some of the sofas and chairs – eeek!
Mummy didn’t even stop to make herself a cup of tea as she normally does when she gets in from work – it was straight upstairs with us two and into the bathtub! The only problem was that she didn’t have any proper cat shampoo – only a “non-rinse” one which you can use as a spot cleaner. And no, I don’t mean me – I mean one that you can use without doing a full bath 😆 You see, she doesn’t really bathe us cats normally, she would only do it if we were really, really dirty. Like we were yesterday in fact.
Here’s some photos of us looking sorry for ourselves after our bath!
Mummy got quite a lot of the soot out of our fur, but not quite all of it, so we are thinking that another bath might be imminent today! Especially as she went out earlier and bought some proper cat shampoo!
So, we devised a cunning plan! It’s been a beautiful day today and we were let outside as soon as mummy got home after going to a funny chap called “the dentist” and buying the shampoo 🙂 We therefore decided that if we stay out long enough, mummy will forget all about her need to wash us, and then we’ll just have our tea and settle down for our cat naps this evening!
So here’s a little of what we’ve been up to today outside!
I’ve been hiding in the foliage around the pond…
….. And Lula’s been trying to hide in the tree!
Do you think our plan will be successful and we’ll get out of having another bath? I hope so 😀
Hello all my friends! We’ve had quite a lot of new subscribers over the last week or two and it makes me very happy that people like reading our blog and looking at our photos! Welcome to you all 🙂
We have had such mixed weather here recently, but my mummy tells me that this is what British summers are normally like, so I suppose I had better get used to it 😆 I was only a little baby for most of last summer, so I can’t really remember much of it 🙂
But today has been one of the nicer days, so Lula and I got out into the field and had a fantastic run around! This photo has got quite a lot of zoom on it, we were quite a distance from our garden!
Robbie saw the fun we were having and when we got back to being a bit closer to our own territory, he decided to come and join us. At first, Lula didn’t recognise who he was as he kind of crept up on us without us noticing, so you can see how she bushed all her fur up – see how thick her tail is! Us cats do this if we’re a little frightened or threatened by something as it makes us look bigger and more scary!
But we then had a lovely play together 🙂
But after a while, Robbie decided it was time for his cat-nap so we made sure we stayed behind and guarded the field…
But we’re quite peckish now after all that activity, so I think we’ll be going in soon to find out what’s for tea!
Well, the weekend is nearly upon us and normally my mummy would be really excited by that because it would mean that she’d have time to relax and not be at that funny place called “work”. But it’s a little different this week as she’s been on holiday from work, so that means that going back to work is now getting ever closer!
But she told me that she had loved having a week off and spending it with all us cats, and who could blame her? 😆
She hasn’t had great weather for her time off either, we’ve had lots of rain showers so she’s not been able to get outside much. Us cats have to take our chances whenever we can for a good play and run around as well. Although us Bengals don’t mind getting wet, we do prefer it when it’s dry as it’s so much easier to play 🙂
So in between the rain showers, we’ve been up to our usual tricks…
Playing in the field….
Eyeing up the birdies….
Climbing up the tree….
Trying to catch the fish….
But I think Robbie has the best idea – he just finds a sheltered spot (not me MOL) and watches the world go by from there…..
Chillin’…..
I think sometimes perhaps we should be a bit more chilled out like our Robbie cat…. we’d certainly save a bit of energy 😀
