Our cat-mates

Hello everyone!

Brrr… well, it’s turned a bit chilly here in the UK today. That’s not great considering it’s June and meant to be the height of summer! In fact, in just over a week’s time, we’ll have the longest day, and after that the nights will start to draw in again! Ho hum! That’s British summers for you πŸ˜†

I was having a little think about my blog, and I know it’s called “Bengal Cat World” but I do live with three moggies (as well as Lula of course) and I do feel that I sometimes forget them when I’m chatting with you guys on here.

So I thought I’d dedicate my blog today to my three cat mates, Robbie, Harry and Friday πŸ™‚

So, here’s Robbie – he’s such a lovely cat! He’s very playful with us and is always after my Da Bird feathers when mummy and daddy get them out! But I don’t mind really because he looks at me with his big gorgeous eyes and I can forgive him anything!

And now, let’s say hello and miaow to Harry. He doesn’t really like having his photo taken but he’s a lovely gentle giant! Sometimes he can get a bit carried away when he plays – he is much stronger than he realises! He definitely is the king of the territory and will defend all of us if other cats come into our garden and if we don’t want to be friends with them.

Last, but by no means least, is little Friday cat. Mummy always says she is more like a dog than a cat as she follows mummy around wherever she goes and loves sitting on her lap! She does like a little play now and again, and is much more gentle than Harry is. She has definitely used up all of her 9 lives – she not only broke her leg once, but she also went missing for nearly two weeks and worried my mummy and daddy terribly. Luckily, she’s put all those wandering days behind her now and just likes to potter around in the garden on a nice day. If it’s a horrible day, she won’t put a paw outside at all πŸ™‚

I hope you’ve enjoyed meeting my other cat friends for a change! Take care and see you soon πŸ˜€

Uh oh!

Bengal Cat Blog Photo
I can see a bug!

Hello my lovely readers πŸ™‚

For those of you who’ve read my blog before, you’ll know that the innocent-looking cat in the photo above is my twin sister, Lula. Β I say that she looks innocent, because there is a definite naughty glint in those baby-blue eyes! I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but in the picture above is a little bug – one of Lula’s hobbies is chasing bugs and flies.

Mmmm… there’s nothing wrong with that, is there? Of course not – just like there isn’t anything wrong with any of her other hobbies either! These include:

Climbing trees

It's lovely up here!

But she was really very naughty earlier on today! Much naughtier than anything she has done before…

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about an incident where Lula went into next door’s garage and hid behind some boxes and wouldn’t come out… Well today she went one step further ! Our neighbour, Jill, was sorting out some things in her garden and had left her back door open. When she went back indoors, who should she see sitting calmly on her sofa, licking her paws?? Yes – you’ve guessed it, it was Lula!!

Mind you, Lula got scared as soon as she saw Jill (though she isn’t a scary person!) so Jill came over to our house and asked mummy to come and rescue her (again!) as she didn’t want to stress her out!

I don’t know what I’m going to do with my sister sometimes! πŸ˜† What do you good folk think?

Twins: so close

Hello my friends!

I hope you’re all enjoying your weekend, we’ve had a lovely Caturday so far, we’ve been out playing a lot and enjoying the fresh air! We are very lucky because not far away from where we live, they’ve had torrential floods and some people have had to be evacuated from their homes – eek!

We’ve come back indoors now because the weather is getting a little more cloudy, so Lula’s gone to the top of the cat tree for a cat-nap and I thought I’d share with my lovely friends my latest thoughts and pictures πŸ™‚

As many of you will know, Lula and I are twins – we may not look the same, but there were only the two of us in our litter – so this makes us especially close. Β We count ourselves very lucky that our mummy and daddy were wanting to buy two Bengals at the same time when they were looking for new additions to their cat family, this means we didn’t get split up like so many other brothers and sisters do.

We get on with all the other cats in our house, but there is nothing as strong as the bond between us two. We are almost always within sight of each other, and if I can’t see Lula I will miaow very loudly until she comes running. Lula does the same if she can’t see me πŸ™‚

Here are some photos so you can see what I mean!

New type of plant?

Oooohhh… I am getting a little frustrated with the British summer! I am thinking of emigrating – can anyone recommend anywhere nice?!

All of my lovely readers will know how much we like to get out and about and run around outside… But we’ve hardly had a chance to do this recently, there has just been so much rain! Of course, it makes the garden look pretty, and saves on mummy & daddy’s water bill – but it’s just no good for us fun-loving felines!

There is one place we can go to, though, when the weather’s not great – where we can keep warm and dry but still feel like we’re outside… and that is the greenhouse! Why is it called a “greenhouse” though? I’m puzzled as it doesn’t look all that green, more kind of see-through πŸ˜†

As you can see from these pics, I have spent so much time in the greenhouse recently, my daddy said he would try and grow me as a new plant! Hurrumph! I’m not sure I like being compared to a plant… perhaps I shouldn’t spend so much time in there after all! πŸ™‚

Hello there everybody! I hope you are all well πŸ™‚

I bet you can’t guess what today’s post is all about? Only kidding – you guessed it, we’ve been out playing with the cows in our field again πŸ™‚ Well, I say “our” field, it actually belongs to a farmer, but that doesn’t stop us having a great time in it!

We’ve had very strange weather over our long holiday weekend – one day it’s quite nice, the next it’s raining cats and cats! So we have to make the most of getting out and about when we can πŸ™‚ Β When we saw our bovine friends, we thought they looked like they wanted to play!

We love long weekends!

Hello everyone!

I’m very happy because it’s an extra l-o-n-g weekend here in the UK!! We’ve had not only Caturday and Sunday, but Monday ANDΒ Tuesday are public holiday days too! This is to celebrate the Queen’s Golden Jubilee – she’s been on the throne for 60 years. 60 years!! Gosh, I can’t even imagine that amount of years! I think she must be quite bored of doing that job by now πŸ˜†

So, we’ve had a busy weekend so far! We went to the Merseyside Cat Club show yesterday which took place near Liverpool. Lula did very well! Β She came first in her breed class and also got first place in both of her side classes! Here she is in her pen:

Bengal Cat Blog Photo
Lula taking it in her stride

And here’sΒ her breed class rosette:

1st Place!

She also, more importantly, got her third Premier Certificate which means she can now claim the title of Premier Cat (please see my cat show corner page if you want an explanation of these things!).

We have to get in touch with the GCCF now to make it all official, and then in future shows she can try and get to Grand Premier! Here’s all of her Premier Certificates:

Bengal Cat Blog Photo
Isn't she a clever girl?

Mummy also entered us both into a special Diamond Jubilee class – but there were also 18 other cats entered of different breeds, and they only awarded first place which went to another cat. Oh well!

I didn’t have such a good show as Lula. I came second in my breed class. I was beaten by a very nice cat who was at his first show! But he was lovely, so I don’t mind that he came in front of me πŸ™‚ I did get a rosette of my own for 2nd place though:

Bengal Cat Blog photo
2nd place ain't so bad!

I then got a first place in one of my side classes (Yay!!) and a 4th place in my other one (boo!!).

Here’s me behaving in my pen πŸ™‚

Chillin'

Being as I didn’t get my Premier Certificate, I’ve still got to get two more from two different judges before I can call myself a Premier Cat like Lula! But mummy has a cunning plan!! The next show we are going to is two-shows-in-one! This happens from time-to-time, but it basically means I have two chances at the next show of getting a PC which will get me to Premier Cat if I get them πŸ™‚

But that’s not for a few weeks yet, so in the meantime, we’ll just carry on playing in the field and running around in the garden like the pet cats that we really are πŸ˜‰

Well, I’m going to go and eat my jubilee tea now! Speak again soon πŸ™‚

Fun in the field :)

Hello all my friends!

I hope you enjoy looking at my photos and reading about my adventures! If you have any comments or suggestions, just let me know by either commenting or by using the “contact me” page!

But anyway, I wanted to share with you today the fun Lula and I had in the field yesterday! As you know, we love the field behind our house – we tease the cows that live in there, we have loads of room to run around in, or sometimes we just sit and chill πŸ˜†

Yesterday, though, it was a “running around like loonies” day MOL πŸ™‚ And here are the photos for you to share in our enjoyment!

Look what Lula’s doing!

Hellos, miaows and purrs to you all! I hope you are all well!

I thought I’d write about Lula again today… it’s been such lovely weather here in the UK for the past few days, perfect for getting out and about and enjoying some outdoor activity πŸ™‚

As you know, I love to climb, but Lula does too! So here she is in various stages of climbing our favourite oak tree which is at the bottom of our garden – we are so lucky to have it, we just love going up and down it several times a day!

I'm not sure that was the best way of getting down!

So there we have it! Lula’s tree-climbing antics in a nutshell!

Sittin’ on the dock of the bay….

…. or perhaps not! But sitting down is my theme today so hello to all my lovely readers πŸ™‚

My mummy says that I have only two speeds: I’m either running around like mad, or I’m asleep!! How dare she?

So I thought I’d go and find some photographic evidence of where I’m just sitting and relaxing and taking life easy….

So, here I am by the pond. Perhaps working out a strategy for catching some of those fish being as I still haven’t managed to do that yet!

Field of dreams

Sometimes I just sit in the field, day-dreaming and watching the world go by. Or at Β least watching the cows go by anyway πŸ˜†

So, I think I’ve provided enough evidence to prove my Mummy wrong! Don’t you agree?

Such a naughty cat!

Lula being good. For a change πŸ™‚

Hello my friends!

Well, I know you all know my sister, Lula, by now… despite the fact that she’s a Snow Bengal and I’m a Brown, we are in fact twins. Β But just in the same way that we look different, we behave very differently, too – in particular, she’s much, much more naughty than I am, despite her innocent looks πŸ˜†

Her favourite hobbies include:

Climbing trees…

Bengal Cat Blog Photo
Contemplating the tree...

Chasing flies…

Bengal Cat Blog Photo
Gotcha!

Running in the field…

Bengal Cat Blog Photo
Ooohh... look at all these bugs i can chase!

… but today, Lula was even more naughty than normal!

When mummy came home from work, she opened the doors to let us out so we could enjoy the sunshine that we’re blessed with in the UK at the moment! So me, Harry, Robbie and Friday had a lovely run around the garden, chasing each other and generally having an enjoyable time playing.

But where was Lula? We weren’t too sure. Until, that is, the doorbell rang and when Mummy answered it, our next door neighbour was there! She asked Mummy if she could come and fetch Lula who had wandered into their garage and had hidden behind some boxes and wouldn’t come out again!

Well, my Mummy armed herself with our favourite chicken cat treats and rushed over there straight away! It took some coaxing, but she finally managed to get her to come out, and so brought her home πŸ˜€

What a naughty girl! So we then had our dinner (Chicken and Turkey) and Lula had a cat-nap (on MY favourite windowsill, I might add) as though there wasn’t a care in the world!

Zzzzz....

Sisters! Sometimes I think they are lots and lots of trouble πŸ˜†
