Pesky sort of Birthday :)

Hello my friends, Spot here!

I hope you’ve had a nice weekend? My mummy and my daddy have been a bit under the weather over the last few days, I think they’re getting old πŸ˜† Shhhh! Don’t tell them I said that πŸ˜‰

Talking of getting old, the peskies – aka Spike and Annie – celebrated their 1 year, 5 month birthday yesterday! Can you believe how time flies? And can you believe also that they wanted extra treats to celebrate the occasion? Mind you, I do agree with that – any excuse for extra treats is fine by me πŸ˜‰

So I thought I’d take the opportunity to look back at life with the Peskies in my blog today….

It certainly didn’t take them long to feel at home in my cat garden 😯

And of course they had fun together too πŸ˜†

At the end of the day, when it’s time to come out of the cat garden, I watch over them then too πŸ™‚ That’s because I’m a good boy πŸ˜‰

So there we have it – proof that I’m a good boy and the peskies are … well, just pesky! πŸ˜†

Our Not-Very-Furry Friends!

Hello my friends, Spot here!

We’ve had a bit of a chilly week in our World! I think Autumn is on its way, though the weather pawcast said it might warm up a bit this week 😯 I wish it would work out what it wants to do, as I just can’t get into a nice routine when I’m not sure what’s happening πŸ˜‰

But enough of the weather, let’s talk about us instead πŸ˜† And today I thought I’d recognise all our non-furry friends we have in our cat garden πŸ™‚ They do a fantastic job, just sitting there minding their own business, looking nice, and I just didn’t think they had enough praise, so am putting that right today! πŸ™‚

First of all, and you’ll know by now what a big fan Clint is of mine – he even named one of his film characters after a friendΒ in our garden: The Cat With No Name! We often have a nice chat with him and, despite his stony and still exterior, he actually moves too! πŸ™‚

But I generally preferΒ to hang out with friends who are a little more educated….

Β© www.bengalcatworld.com

… though I must admit, he can be a little boring sometimes πŸ˜†
Spike prefers a more comfortable snooze on Geoff the Giraffe πŸ™‚

Whilst Annie befriends things you wouldn’t expect, like birdies and mousies!

But Annie says, when it’s all too monotonous talking to her friends in the cat garden, there’s always the big garden to explore which daddy lets her do very frequently!

Β© www.bengalcatworld.com
Hello! I’m in the big garden!

So I suppose we’re very lucky to have so many friends in our garden, I have no idea why Annie wants to play outside of it so often πŸ™‚

Now I’m off for a nice catnap – I think I might take a leaf out of Spike’s book and settle down with Geoff πŸ™‚

Take care my friends!

Calendar Cats

Hello my friends, Spot here!

We’ve had a very lazy weekend so far, with not much to report – just the usual hanging around in our cat garden and trying to look like we’re close to starvation so the hoomins take pity on us and give us some of my favourite chicken treats πŸ˜† And, it usually works – especially with my daddy! πŸ˜€

Talking of my daddy, he’s been busy printing off lots of our 2016 Bengal Cat World CalendarsΒ for all the lovely customers who have been buying them from our store! πŸ™‚ So that got us to reminiscing about our very first calendar and the pics we had in there. And, by the magic of the internet, I’m going to share them all with you below, for those friends who didn’t purchase a calendar from us that year! (and for those who did to enjoy the pics once more πŸ™‚ )

So, in no particular order, here they are πŸ™‚

Chilled out Sunday!

Hello my friends, Spot here!

We’ve been having a very lazy day today after yesterday’s show day! OK, so it was only Spike and Annie and the hoomins who went, but they woke us up far too early in the morning for my liking and they really disturbed my sleeping and eating pattern, serving breakfast so early (and dinner so late) 😯

And then in the afternoon, we had one of the biggest storms I’ve ever seen! The sky was shouting very loudly and there was so much lightning in the sky, it made my eyes go all funny! 😯 My mummy said I shouldn’t complain about it so much as she was driving everyone back from the cat show in it, but I can’t help but mention it as it was so bad πŸ˜‰

Back to the show: the peskies didn’t have a great day at all in terms of results, but they did get to meet our lovely friend, Edna! They said it was so nice to see her and she is very kind as she bought all 7 of us cats in our World some lovely treats! πŸ™‚ And you know how much I love my chicken treats, so they were very much appreciated! Thank you, Edna! πŸ˜†

So this is why we’ve been chillin in our cat garden today (before it started raining again at least πŸ˜‰ )

It started off with Annie being in a thoughtful mood….

Β© www.bengalcatworld.com
AnnieΒ being thoughtful

…So while she was doing that,Β it was Spike’s turn to annoy me for a change!

Β© www.bengalcatworld.com

I told him he needed to get Lula’s hammock sharpish otherwise she’d be claiming it for herself, and the tactic seemed to work!

But really, Lula was examining two apples that must have fallen down in the storm!

Β© www.bengalcatworld.com
These don’t smell very meaty!

So that left me with the purrfect opportunity to find a nice spot to snooze in undisturbed in my mummy’s office (and you know how much I love my cat naps!) πŸ™‚

Little Annie

Hello my friends, Spot here!

A couple of weeks ago, you might recall I wrote a blog all about Spike because he was the only one of us who was awake when my mummy came to take pics for our blog? πŸ™‚

Well, a certain ladyΒ said she was feeling a little left out, so I’m dedicating tonight’s post to the littlest pesky whose full name is Grand Master Cat Tsarena Anastasia, though we prefer to call her simply Annie πŸ™‚

I have said this before: she might be little in size, but she is huge in purrsonality as these latest pics from my daddy show!

Being from the same litter, she is of course very close to Spike, but she has decided that I am her best friend forever too! I, on the other paw, am not always in the mood for my little mini-me, so I let my body language do the talking! πŸ˜†

Β© www.bengalcatworld.com
Annie wonders if it was something she said? πŸ™‚

But she is pretty resourceful by herself and loves to drink from and play in our fountain πŸ™‚

Β© www.bengalcatworld.com
Mmm… refreshing!

Sometimes, she just stands still and stares at nothing at all, just to look pretty! πŸ™‚

Β© www.bengalcatworld.com
What is this life, if full of care, We have no time to stand and stare πŸ™‚

Of course, she loves to be up high when watching the world go byΒ too, and her favourite place to do this is the apple tree (which amazingly does have apples on, despite Annie’s best efforts to knock them off!) πŸ™‚

Β© www.bengalcatworld.com
Annie saysΒ a nice chicken treat is much better than a horrible apple πŸ™‚

When she’s not charming her way in the cat garden, she charms our daddy who lets her into the big garden quite a lot, supervised of course! But she has never yet gone through the fence to the field, though I’m sure she’s thought about it more than once!

Β© www.bengalcatworld.com
Annie wonders if the grass is greener?

So there we have it. The little pesky in a nutshell πŸ™‚

Spike leads the way!

Hello my friends, Spot here!

IΒ hope you’ve had a lovely weekend? πŸ™‚ We’ve been busy ourselves… busy watching daddy working hard in the big garden πŸ™‚ It looked like such hard work, it made me tired just looking at him! πŸ™‚ He’s been having a bit of a clear out – I don’t think Robbie is very happy, though, as a few of the trees he used to hang out in are no longer there! 😯

We watched daddy for a while but then we got very excited, and very noisy, because mummy was preparing our dinner, so we left daddy to it to go and let mummy know how hungry we were! After all, it must have been a long time since breakfast! Us Bengals like to eat al fresco when the weather is nice, so we were served our food in our cat garden where it was soon eaten up πŸ™‚

Once that was done, and mummy had taken the dirty cat bowls away, she thought she’d come and get a few nice pics of us lot …. first of all she looked for me, but all that hard work watching, followed by a nice dinner, had taken it’s toll!

I was fast asleep in mummy’s office!

Β© www.bengalcatworld.com
Zzzz… Zzzz… Zzzz…

Ok, so that’s no big surprise, mummy thought she’d look for Annie instead…. she soon found her – asleep on the chair 😯

Β© www.bengalcatworld.com
Zzzz… Zzzz… Zzzz…

Lula was bound to be awake – no? No!

Β© www.bengalcatworld.com
Zzzz… Zzzz… Zzzz…

So that left only one spotty one to find! Luckily, mummy spotted him having a little wander around!

Β© www.bengalcatworld.com
Yay! Spike is awake!

But I’m not sure he really knew what to do on his own. First of all, he thought an apple that had fallen off the tree might make a good toy…

Β© www.bengalcatworld.com
Not sure about this apple

…. but it didn’t roll very well.

So then he thought he’d see what was happening on the top of our original cat house

Β© www.bengalcatworld.com
What’s up there?

But he didn’t stop long as there was absolutely nothing happening up there! Next he checked out mummy’s little pebble collection!

Β© www.bengalcatworld.com
This smells like the sea!

But it was a bit boring, so Spike was a bit flummoxed! There was no one to play with and not much to do!

Β© www.bengalcatworld.com
Spike doing the flummoxed look

In the end, he decided to hang out near the tree, at least he could watch the birdies from there!

Β© www.bengalcatworld.com
Here birdies!

So mummy decided to take a pic of one her favourite flowers in the cat garden instead!

Next week we should have a bit more news to report as Annie and Spike will be going to a cat show on Caturday! Yay! πŸ™‚

The ones that got away – or should have!

Hello my friends, Spot here!

Here at Bengal Cat World International Headquarters (aka my mummy’s office, but she wanted me to make it sound posh πŸ˜† ), we work hard to bring you new and original pics every day on our Facebook page and every week in my blog πŸ™‚

This means of course, that all of us kitties get used to having a camera following us around quite often, butΒ we know that my mummy takes a lot more photos than are actually shared? So I asked her what happens to all those other pics, the ones that are not seen online?

So, she let me into a little secret – she said that not all of the photos she takes are a good enough quality so she usually just deletes them πŸ™‚

So just for a bit of fun, today I’m going to show you how things don’t always go right when photographing us kitties – I think you hoomins have a saying: “Never work with children or animals”? This little selection will show you why! πŸ˜†

ss
Hey, you moved!

Nice clear grass, out of focus Annie πŸ™‚

That darned grass again!

xx
Hmmm… I think it would be better to get Lula’sΒ head in the shot too πŸ™‚

xx
Being a light colour, it’s easy to get too much exposure when photographing Lula in the sunlight

xx
A second ago, Annie was in shot. Now? You’ll have to admire our nice catmint πŸ™‚

xx
Not only did Spike run out of shot, but the camera was also focused on Adam the Ant for no particular reason πŸ™‚

xx
You really wanted to see this pole in detail, didn’t you?

Sometimes us kitties close our eyes just at the wrong moment, though I call this my ‘Clint Eastwood’ look πŸ™‚

I hope you had a bit of a giggle with these, my friends!

Our new addition!

Hello my friends, Spot here!

I wonder how many of you thought we’d got a new kitten after reading that headline? πŸ™‚ Well, I’m sorry to disappoint you, but there’s no patter of tiny feet in our house at the moment, other than Annie’s and Friday’s as both of them are pretty small πŸ™‚

Our new addition is something exciting daddy built for us in our cat garden! He built us a lovely new tree house πŸ™‚ It has lots room to play on and even a sleeping compartment too!

We had fun even before it was finished, daddy said we were all such good helpers πŸ˜†

Annie made sure everything was finished to a high standard…

But it only took Daddy a couple of days to finish it off, even when the weather wasn’t so great. Here’s a pic of it in its entirety!

So I decided it was about time for me to explore it πŸ™‚

Spikey enjoyed exploring the hole too!

I’m sure we’ll have many hours of fun in our new place, with lots of pics to share in the future! πŸ™‚

Back to normal?

Hello my friends, Spot here!

Firstly, I must apologise for the slight gapΒ in my blog recently 😯 My mummy has been very naughty in not helping me to write it, so I am going to blame her, she can be very naughty sometimes. Unlike me, of course, as I am always a good boy πŸ˜‰

Last week, the hoomins were very naughty indeed as they only went jetting off to Prague, didn’t they? They left us behind with the house sitter, she was called Sue. Now, if you spoke to Sue, I’m sure she would tell some tales on us, but being as I am writing this blog and she isn’t, I’m just going to let you know we were all very well behaved. All of the time πŸ™‚ Except when we were naughty πŸ˜†

Before I move on to our escapades, I thought you might like a little update on what my mummy and daddy did in Prague? They spent quite a lot of time at the zoo as my daddy likes to take photos of all the animals.

Here’s one of a clouded leopard, proving that it’s not just me who likes to have a nice catnap now and again πŸ™‚

Β© Bengal Cat World
Zzzz… Zzzz… Zzzz…

Did you know that the clouded leopard has the longest fangs in proportion to body size, out of all the big cats? Here’s a pic to show you! πŸ™‚

Β© Bengal Cat World
*Yawn*

The other thing they did was wander around Prague city which is said to be one of the most beautiful cities in the World! πŸ™‚ My mummy said she liked all the crystal shops, and found these wonderful cats in one!

Β© Bengal Cat World
So many kitties!

But back to us…. we’ve been making the most of the great weather we’ve had recently and spent time in our cat garden. I think, though, that it went to Spike’s head a little, as he was trying to out-silly Annie (who we all know is very silly indeed! 😯 )

Meanwhile, Lula and I just chilled out and watched them πŸ™‚

So there we have it! Lula and I were good, Spike and Annie were naughty πŸ™‚ And of course it goes without saying that Harry, Robbie and Friday were good too πŸ™‚ They don’t really like strangers so were hiding quite a lot of the time πŸ™‚

Take care my friends!

A bit of news… then a lazy Sunday :)

Hello my friends, Spot here!

I think you may be expecting me to bring you all the news from the show yesterday? Well… the news is… there is no news really πŸ˜† Spike and Annie both got one third each in one of their side classes and that’s it 😯
