Cat Show Success!

Hello my friends, Spot here!

Oooh! What a busy day we had yesterday! As you may already know, Lula and I went to a cat show so I thought I’d let you know a bit more about the day 🙂 This was the Shropshire Cat Club show, so luckily it wasn’t too far from us and we didn’t have to get up as early as we usually do when we go to shows – about 6:30am, lie in!

My daddy was feeling a little poorly and decided to stay at home so we just went with our mummy 🙂 She didn’t have her trade stand at this show, so she was able to give us her undivided attention 🙂

So we set off just after 7:45am and had a uneventful journey to the show. Being as we weren’t early, we had to queue for a while, but my mummy was happily chatting away to another exhibitor in the queue while Lula and I had a good look from our carriers at all that was going on around us 🙂

We then got to see Sue, our breeder 🙂 She was duty vet for the show and we passed our vet inspection with flying colours! (of course 😆 ). We then went to our pens which mummy cleaned and prepared for us while Lula and I had a good look at what was going on around us from our carriers. Then, we were in our pens and made ourselves at home so we were nice and settled before the judging started.

My mummy had to leave us for the morning judging but kept a close eye on results 🙂 She was more than happy when she got them! Lula didn’t manage to get her Olympian certificate – she was in a class of 8 fantastic cats of all breeds, all of them quite a bit more mature than her 🙂 But we were pleased when Sue’s girl, Fanny (our Auntie) got the Reserve – a Maine Coon won the class. All of the contenders got a Rosette to say they were Olympian Contenders, though, which was nice as it is quite an achievement to reach that standard 🙂

I did slightly better in my Imperial class because I got the Reserve Imperial certificate! I was beaten by a Devon Rex but I beat other great cats to get Reserve, so my mummy was very pleased 🙂 She was even more happy when Lula was then awarded Best of Breed! 🙂

My mummy was allowed to join us again at lunchtime when she gave us lots of fuss and treats 🙂 All that was left was for the side classes to be judged, though we’re not too worried about those and mummy had only entered us into two each (instead of 3). We were unplaced in one of them and then we were up against each other in our final class where I came 2nd and Lula 3rd 🙂 I have liked to remind her of that from time to time today 😆

We all got a bit wet when we left the show as the rain was pouring down, but Lula and I didn’t mind too much as we were in our carriers – my mummy’s fur was quite soaked though! But we had another uneventful journey home where we had some treats and a nice dinner 🙂

Take care my friends!

Love from Spot
