Cat Show – Pics and News!

Hello my friends, Spot here! (again!)

I promised you yesterday that I would give you a full update from the show, so here it is! I am a busy boy today! 😉

We always get up early on cat show days, but yesterday was earlier than most as it was a 3 hour drive away so we were woken up at 3:45 am! I didn’t want to get out of my bed, so I stayed in for a bit longer… at least until breakfast was served and then it was just too tempting and I had a good stretch and some food 🙂

We left the house at around 5-ish and started the three hour journey – it’s a good job Lula and I are good travellers! Unfortunately, our car was vandalised a couple of days previously, 4 windows had been smashed out 🙁 Three of them had been fixed, but the big one at the rear needs to be specially ordered, so it only has a temporary covering on it 🙁 This made the already-long journey quite an adventure, especially as it was quite windy and rainy too!

But we arrived safely and daddy got us settled while mummy set up the stall 🙂 I had a good look round at my surroundings….

Hello everyone!

Then, when it was time for the judging to start, my mummy and daddy had to leave us, but they weren’t far away as they were looking after the stall 🙂 My mummy looked through the catalogue which shows all the different classes and which cats are in which – she was shocked to see just how big the classes were! Lula is in the top class – the Olympian – where cats of all breeds compete for the certificate. There were 13 others in her class, nearly all of them much more mature than her. She achieved her Imperial title at such a young age (before she was two) that it’s now very tough at the very top level where many cats have competed for years 😯

My title class was also large too – I am going for my Imperial, so I compete against all other breeds of cat in the “Foreign” category as that’s what Bengals are classified as. There were 7 in my class.

In the end… Lula didn’t get her Olympian certificate, though it did go to another Bengal – a brown marbled girl who is the top-rated Bengal (for GCCF shows) in the entire country having achieved Olympian Bronze, now she’s working towards Olympian Silver. A Maine Coon got the Reserve (2nd place) – she is already an Olympian Silver and was trying to get an Olympian Gold certificate.

In my Imperial class, both the title and the reserve went to Russian Blues! They must have been on top form that day. Best of breed for the brown spotty Bengals was won by the boy in the pen next to me, though Lula did win Best of Breed for spotty Snow Bengals!

Clever girl 🙂

But there was better news for me 🙂 Mummy had not entered us into lots of miscellaneous classes, but the one I was in I finished 3rd out of 9 entries! Mummy and daddy were really pleased as there was some tough competition 🙂

So both of us had some great results and the stall did well too!

Then, they closed the show quite early, and it was time for us to pack up and head home… This was the best bit of the day, because we stopped for a little break en route, and daddy let me out of my carrier and I spent the rest of the journey on mummy’s knee watching the world go by – quite literally! 😀 I did love it, though you do know how much I like my catnaps, so I couldn’t stay awake the whole time and had a lovely long cat nap on my mummy’s lap 🙂

Then, we got home and said hello to Harry, Robbie and Friday and had some food and some more catnaps before bedtime!

So that was our day 🙂

Take care my friends!
Love from Spot xxxxx

  1. A very good day all around, except for the car window! You must have just loved the ride on mummy’s lap 😀 You two are awesome travellers.

I see our friend had Mia (Stardust) there yesterday too and she was right next door to Lula. That was nice to see. Lula’s BoB ribbon is a very nice one. I love blue 😀

  2. I’m glad you had a good day Spot , you and Lula should be very proud of yourselves 😀 You were a good boy sitting on Mummy’s lap and having a nap on the way home much better than being in the carrier xx

    1. I loved looking out of the window at all the cars going by, but I was just a bit too tired to stay awake all the way home 🙂 xxx

  3. Awww both you and Lula have been so good! Although again I think the judge should´ve given you at least a #2 😀 . But you did very well. Think Mummy and Daddy was very pleased. How lovely trip home you had to be able to sit in mummy´s lap  Sweet

  5. You both did so well, congratulations. (I still think you and your sister are no 1 equal 🙂 ) You are clever travelling most of the way home on your Mummy’s knee, I presume Lula was quite happy to have the carrier all to herself or do you have separate ones! The photos are lovely as usual xx ♥ ♥

    1. We have separate carriers, Edna 🙂 Lula wanted to come out as well, but that would have been too much, so it will be her turn next time 🙂 xxx

  6. Well done to you both, a good day all round, apart from the car windows, was it a bit draughty and noisy in the back? Nice to travel on mummy’s knee…cosy! Lovely pics again and well done………………now bring on the Christmas treats! xxx 😛

    1. It was a bit noisy, Mairi, though we were snuggled in our carriers so we didn’t really notice too much 🙂 And of course coming back I was on my mummy’s knee 😎 xxx

  7. Aren’t you a pair of clever kitties 😀 Tell your Daddy I’m very sorry to hear about his car 🙁 there are some very nasty hoomins around & I don’t understand them any more than you do! xxxxx <3

    1. Thanks, Clare! We don’t know why some people are so horrible 🙁 They don’t realise all the hassle they put others through for days and weeks after the horrible thing they did 🙁 xxxxx

  8. Gratz on a wonderful day at the show. . .you may not have won first place, but both of you will always be champions in my heart!! 😉 Glad all of you arrived safely — both to the show and back home. . . love and prayers for all of you at BCW!! <3 <3 <3
