Bengal Cat World Advent Calendar – Day Three

Hello my friends, Spot here!

Welcome to day three of our advent calendar! We hope you’ve enjoyed it so far, there’s still quite a few days to go yet 🙂 It’s getting me very excited, though, I wonder what Santa Claws will bring me for Christmas? 🙂

Our Robbie cat is going to illustrate today’s phrase: It’s Raining Cats and Dogs!

The phrase it’s raining cats and dogs is said to originate from 17th Century London. In those days long ago, cats and dogs used to hunt for mice and other vermin on the roofs of buildings. Now, when it rained heavily (as it often can do in London), it’s thought that the rain was sometimes so hard it swept the cats and dogs off the roofs, making them fall to the ground and onto the unsuspecting people walking underneath! Some people disagree with this explanation, but we think it describes the phrase purrfectly! All I can say is – phew! I’m so pleased life has moved on since then!

We hope you’ll join us tomorrow for day four! 🙂

Take care my friends!

Love from Spot
