Hello my friends, Spot here!

Bengal Cat Blog Photo
Hello!

I thought we’d have a little look today at what makes great cat photos and share with you top tips that anyone can adopt for taking them! You probably realise by now that I get lots of photos taken of me by my daddy and sometimes my mummy πŸ˜† So I think I’ve learned a little bit about what it takes!

1. Get something pretty in the photo next to your cat

2. Β Take advantage of a quiet moment

3. Better still – taking advantage of a cat-napping moment!

4. Use their favourite toys to get their attention!

5. Get an accomplice (preferably another cat) to distract their attention – and snap away!

6. The more cats in a photo, the better!

7. And finally… Make sure you have your camera ready at all times to capture those unexpected silly moments!

  1. Those are all great tips! Having seen some of your daddy’s pics, and the wonderful job he’s done, I’m sure these suggestions are fool-proof! πŸ˜€ Thanks for sharing!

  2. Spot,
Thank you soooo much for sharing these great tips! Your daddy (and mommy too) take great pics of all of you and are so kind to share them plus these tips!!! πŸ˜€ I will practice these tomorrow with our furbabies!!! Thanks!!!

    1. I’m so pleased you liked my tips, Sandi! You see, my mummy and daddy think I just sit there and model for them, but I’m watching and learning all the time! πŸ™‚ xxx

    1. Thanks, June! We are pretty good most of the time, we do sometimes move when daddy is just about to take the perfect shot, but he always forgives us πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜€ xx

  3. I love taking photos of my cats, but it can be tricky. These tips should come in handy on those days when my cats are having diva moments.:)>^^<

  4. Very helpful Spot! Now i just need to apply these to Mr. Tut and get some better photos! He is quite hard to get pictures of πŸ˜‰

  5. They are really helpful Spot though I’ll probably never be able to take pics as good as your Daddy especially as Madam Aneksi has this thing … as soon as I pick the camera up & pointed it at her she stops doing what she was doing or just walks away πŸ™ xxxxx

    1. She’s not daft, is she, Clare? I’m sure you’ll be able to catch her unawares one day soon though πŸ˜‰ xxxx

  6. Great tips, Spot!! I have found that my most difficult time is the random cuteness ones. I can usually get great napping or cuddling ones. The ‘action’ ones are my hardest. I’ve always got the camera ready to go!! I have more pics of my cats than anything else — go figure!! I also take random weather pics. Thanks for the tips. I’m sure they will help in my quest for even better kitty pics! Keep the great photos coming!! love and prayers for all from me and the ‘crew’. . . πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

    1. I can imagine with 12 cats you would have lots and lots of pics, we have so many and there’s only 5 of us! πŸ™‚ I will be pleased if my little tips help you in some small way πŸ™‚ Love to you and all your babies! xxxxx

  7. Awww Spot, you are so good at finding the right pics to publisch also. I donΒ΄t think mummy and daddy have anything to do with that. Of course they are the ones taking these lovely pics but you pick them out πŸ˜› . The only thing I can do to get my boys at a pic together or even alone is to have the camera around all the time and preferably it should be ready to snap it off at once. Mirrin and Selmin moves around so much as soon as the camera comes out. Or they stop what they was doing. I usually take pics of them to make into Christmas cards. When I see the perfect one, get the camera, they have already shifted or they have to see what IΒ΄m really doing πŸ˜† . But thanks for the tips IΒ΄ll try to practise it soon πŸ˜‰ You are so clever Spot, to notice things your daddy do to catch you πŸ˜‰

    1. Thank you, Elisabeth! That’s the problem with us cats, we never stay still for long enough or do what our hoomins would like us to do, we are very independent. But it makes life interesting for you πŸ˜€
