Seven of the naughtiest things we have ever done!

Hello my friends, Spot here!

I don’t want to alarm you but Lula and I are worrying our mummy… we’ve been so well behaved for a record time (at least a week!) that she’s wondering if we’re coming down with something! 😯 Purrsonally I think she should count herself lucky, especially when I think back to all the naughty things we’ve done, and how much trouble we can cause when we want to…

So here’s my top 7 list of my favourite naughty tricks, I’ll start off at number 7 and make my way up to the naughtiest thing we ever did! I wonder if you can think what it was? No peeking now! 😆

Number 7: The Cows

We start off with a time when we were allowed free access outside, when we used to love going in the big field. Our favourite naughty thing then was to tease the cows! 🙂 We would go up to them, very close, and stare at them and then if they tried to chase us, we would run very quickly into the safety of our garden 🙂

Number 6: The Big Oak Tree

Lula and I were very adventurous even from a young age and it didn’t take us long to work out the attraction of the big oak tree, and how cool it was to climb it! Mind you, we worried our mummy very much the first few times we went up it as we were so small and the tree is so big! We don’t know why, we were purrfectly safe!

Number 5: The Garage Roof

Sticking with being up high, one of my best tricks is when I decided to climb up onto the garage roof! My mummy and daddy still have no idea how I did it as there’s nothing nearby that could help me get up there… my lips are sealed my friends!

Number 4: Friday and the Chicken

I told you about this one in a recent blog post, and it just goes to show that it’s not only us Bengals who are naughty! In case you haven’t read our other post, our Friday, who is a quite small little thing, decided one day to steal daddy’s chicken that he had left out ready to cook for his dinner! It was on the worktop and he turned his back for one minute: next thing, Friday jumps up there, grabs the chicken – which was almost bigger than she was – jumps down, and runs off into the garden with it! Then daddy realised and chased after her, but off she ran with this chicken hanging out of both sides of her mouth, into the field and into the bramble bush where daddy couldn’t get her 😆 😆 All daddy could do was listen as she crunched and ate his dinner!

So…. we’re more than halfway through now! I wonder if you know what will be in the top 3?

Number 3: Jumping out of Upstairs Windows

Lula and I have both done this very recently. Mind you, when I did it, it wasn’t my fault as the man who came to measure up for new windows left my mummy and daddy’s bedroom window wide open, so what else was I supposed to do, other than jump out of it? 😀

Lula’s escape out of the window was much more sneaky and dangerous – she somehow got through a very small gap and was perched on the windowsill, looking ready to jump down about 15 feet! Daddy just managed to get to her in time and bring her back inside!

We don’t have a pic of either of these occasions, but we did show in this photo how much we like being on window ledges, though this one was at ground level! 🙂

Now now, Lula, everyone knows it’s you who leads me astray!

Number 2: Lula and the Road

This was a very worrying one for my mummy and daddy and the reason why our freedom was curbed and our cat garden built. We live in the countryside, but have a busy road in the vicinity of our house. It is quite a long way in cat terms, and none of the cats that have been part of the family, past or present, have ever gone as far as the road… until Lula did one day! She was chasing bees and butterflies and was oblivious to the dangers nearby. Needless to say, it worried mummy and daddy very much, and since that day Lula has never been allowed outside other than in the cat garden or on her harness (other than on the couple occasions when she’s managed to escape).

It’s such a shame as the field is great for us cats to run and play in, but the risk of it happening again was much too great and our safety has to come first.

So here we are at number one! Did you guess correctly what it was? Here is where I reveal all!

Number 1: The Chimney!

Oh yes! We like to explore anywhere and everywhere, so why not the chimney? It’s all dark and mysterious – purrfect for a curious Bengal cat! One day, when our hoomins were out, we thought we heard a birdie in the chimney, so that was it – we were up there like a shot!

When my mummy came home, she looked at me and she knew something was different about me, but she couldn’t quite work out what it was, she was very puzzled! Then she looked at Lula, and it was much easier to tell looking at her fur because, instead of being a beautiful snow colour, it was black! 😯 She then went into our lounge and saw the evidence! Black sooty paw prints all over the cream carpet and big blobs of soot near the chimney too!

Well, she didn’t even stop to make a cup of tea! (very unusual!). She whisked us both off into the bathroom and gave us both a bath! We do like water, but we weren’t really in the mood for a bath if we’re honest! But then the worst part was, because the first bath didn’t get all the soot out, she gave us another bath the next day too! The cheek of it! Here’s a pic of us after our baths 🙂

So there you have it! Seven of the naughtiest things we have done… so far!! Ha! What else will we get up to in the future…..??

Take care my friends!

  1. 😆 You two and Friday! Naughty, naughty kittehs, but amusing to me now! Perspective is a wonderful thing. Had I known you when Lula ‘hit the road’ I’d have been having kittens of my own worrying about her. I just love Friday’s chicken story though – hilarious! I think you were being kind to Lula making the window story #2…I think her excursion what a bit naughtier than yours and much naughtier than playing in the chimney!

      1. I know you do! As naughty as you are, or as mummy thinks you are, you’re well loved by a lot of people 😉

  2. Spot. . . I was LMAO!!!!! : 😈 My kids are ornery rotten as well, so I can relate!! My Tabby (who looks a lot like Friday (except for the white neck line) would so steal my chicken too if left unattended!! 👿 I am just so glad that you do have your garden to use now. I wouldn’t want anything to happen to my beautiful friends!! Have a great weekend BCW! Keep the lovely posts coming — absolutely LOVED this one!!! <3 <3 <3

  3. Oh Spot that was so funny ……(not Lula and the road though) My favs were You & Lula up the chimney and Friday with the chicken 😀 xxx

  4. Brilliant! We have done most if the same naughty things- except steal a chicken!

  5. That was so funny! I love the pictures of you after your baths – I had to bath Sule the other day & she was not happy. She’s tiny anyway and so she virtually disappeared when she was wet!

    1. Awww… bless her! It’s amazing how skinny kitties are underneath their fur, even short haired ones like us! <3 xxxx

  6. That’s the first time I’ve read about your escapade up the chimney with Lula, Poor Mummy having to bath you both, soot is very difficult to get rid of!! You’re 2 very naughty kitties (but very lovable ), and being a little bit naughty makes you more interesting!! xx ♥ ♥

  7. My part-Bengal ball of mischief (called Richard) has wandered up the chimney and jumped out of a first storey window. He hasn’t done any other naughty things on this list, but he once woke me up by swiping 3 cups and a glass off my desk and onto the floor!!

He is also known to fell Christmas trees…

  8. Oh Spot this was my favorite post of your’s so far!! 😀 I love hearing about all of the naughty things you and Lula have done reminds me of all the naughty mischief Tut has gotten in too! And the entire time I was thinking chimney it has to be number one or at least on there! 😆 <3

  9. This post sure amuses me especially during my hard times, Spotty – I also like the chimney part as well as the chicken one. =^.^= My cats sure are a bunch of naughties too especially when my cats Okra, Jabba, and Repolyo jumped on the roof. 😆

    1. We hope your mum gets better soon, Marie <3 If we can help to bring you a little cheer during these sad times, then we are pleased about that <3 xxx

      1. Thanks, Spotty. =^.^= Sadly, my mom went over to the Rainbow Bridge to join my cats Patches, Colette, and Onion who happened to be the sweet little naughties. 😥 Then again, thank mew so much for the little cheer, sweeties. *Meow hugs* =^.^=

        1. We are so very sorry, Marie 🙁 We didn’t realise your mom had passed away 🙁 Sending you our deepest condolences at this sad time xxxxx

          1. So sorry to hear Marie! My deepest condolences, please take care <3, cry when needed, that´s very important! <3

  10. Thank you for sharing your stories.I love them. I once had a cat named Toby who chased a squirll up a tree on to a roof and had to call the fire dept. to get him down. Love Linda

  11. Hello Spot,
    Your story made me laugh.
Our Bambino is also very curious and venturous.
But he is so sweet that I cannot be angry with him most of the time.
    Love to you all,
    Nanny 😀

  12. Spot and Lula–you two keep all of us laughing and I’m sure raise mummy and daddy’s blood pressure a few points! I love hearing your adventurous stories and the photos only confirm your naughtiness! But life would be rather boring if you just cat napped all the time! I don’t remember reading of your adventures with the cows before. They probably don’t think you were very neighborly! Lol!! I really think you should team up with a great illustrator and write children’s books about your life in the country. Thanks for the insight into your past err…fun! Your friend, Linda xxxxx

  13. Awww Spot, I had such a nice time reading about your naughtyness 😀 . But of course now I do really understand why mummy and daddy decided to make a garden for you! Amazing that you didn´t get scared of the cows 😯 . I think cows are so big!!! Maybe it´s good you surprice mummy now by being so kind that she don´t know what hit her when your next naughtyness comes up 😉

    1. The cows are very big, Betta, but they are very slow too 😎 We are going to try and be good, though we can’t promise anything! 😈 xxx

      1. I agree cows are slow 🙂 . When I was young mum and dad had cows, we had a collie/lassie dog that used to come with me when I was taking the cows to other places for food. Summertime they was always outside. My dog did all the driving, I just opened and closed the gates 😯 . But if a cow started running at me, I hid away at once… 🙄 . But of course you are so much quicker than I was and is so you don´t have the same problem  . Of course you must have some naughtyness coming up. My boys still have even if they are 5 years old already 😉 . But be sure to take care! <3 xxx
