National Cat Show Update

Hello my friends, Spot here!

I can’t believe the weekend went so fast! It was over in flash – I hope you all enjoyed yours? I know my good friend, Diane, will just be starting hers later as she has Tuesdays and Wednesdays off, I think it’s nice to have different days off to everyone else, don’t you?

One of the reasons our weekend sped by was because both Lula and I went to the National Cat Club show on Caturday. This is one of the furthest-away venues we go to, it’s around a 3 hour drive. Mummy said that any more than that and it wouldn’t be fair on us. We are very good travellers in the car, though, we are so quiet… mummy has to look into the back seats sometimes and make sure we’re still there! I was quite loud at times coming home though, as I wanted my dinner. I did eat quite a lot at the show, but I got hungry again – it must’ve been all the excitement 🙂

Here’s a photo of me at the show chilling out! It’s quite good going there for a cat nap, you just have to wake up when the judges come round to look at you 🙂

You’ll see my rosette in the background there – it’s red which in the UK means first place, which was great! I beat two other Bengal boys (a brown and a snow) to earn that, but I didn’t quite achieve my Grand certificate – the judge man is quite strict and he withheld it as he said my fur is too long and fluffy 🙂 Purrsonally, I am quite proud of my fur, so I don’t mind if the judge man didn’t like it – everyone is entitled to their opinions 🙂

Lula did so well again, she is leaving me waaaay behind in her list of achievements! She got her 3rd Imperial certificate – she beat a lovely Abyssinian and a gorgeous Asian Tabby girl to win that! We were so pleased as I bet it was hard for the judge to reach her decision!

Look at my pretty rosette!

This was our last show for a little while as our next one isn’t until February…. we will let you into a little secret, but please don’t tell our Uncle BooBoo (he who did so well at the Supreme show a couple of weeks ago) – he is a fantastic cat as you’ve probably seen, he earned his Imperial Grand Premier title just before his 2nd birthday and Lula said she would like to try and beat that brilliant achievement 😀 Lula needs 2 more certificates to earn hers, but we’re not 2 years old until mid-May! So it’s certainly achievable, though of course nothing is guaranteed in life – it’s just a bit of fun between my mummy and Uncle BooBoo’s mummy really 🙂

Here’s a final photo of me!

Take care my friends!

  1. Spot, Lula and all at BCW. . . Once again, Gratz on the awards you have won. Gratz to Uncle BooBoo, too! I have no doubt that both of you will get your Imperial Grand Premier titles as well. Pfft to the judge who thinks your fur is too long, Spot!!! He just doesn’t know a handsome cat!!! I so wish I was able to physically give all of you at BCW hugs and cuddles!! Thank you for thinking of me!! Keep up the great work at your shows!!! Love, prayers, kitty kisses and head bonks!!! 🙂

  2. Well done for last Caturday Spot & Lula and here’s hoping that 2013 brings even greater accolades for you both!

Don’t worry about the judge man saying your coat was too long and fluffy Spot – it’s your winter coat and the longer and fluffier it gets, the warmer you will be – which is all good news in my book! 🙂 I must say that the rosettes are pretty impressive!

My Claude is terrible in the car – he yowls even if it’s only a 2 minute ride so I am very impressed that you both travel so well (even if you were hungry on the way home and had to let Mummy and Daddy know) 😉

    Have a fabulous week.

    Love and hugs x x

    1. Thank you, Heather! We will be happy if Lula achieves her Imperial Grand Premier this year, and if I could get my Grand Premier, that would be nice too 🙂 xxxx

  3. I´m so happy that both of you got certificates! Although I´m sorry they could say that you had too long fur!!! tHAT

  4. I´m so happy about your´s and Lula´s certificates. But I can´t understand that they said you have too long fur!!! That´s not true. With shorter fur you could look funny! That´s my opinion, and that´s what counts!!! =) You are both very lovely friends and you both deserves the best trofées there is!!! Lots of <3 to both of you =)

      1. Thanks, Elisabeth! We think the judge is quite silly, but we have to abide by his decision at the end of that day – as long as all of our friends like you like us, that means more to us than anything! 🙂

  5. Agree, the judge is really silly! But all of your friends like you and think you are the most gorgeous friends on earth! Perfect ones <3
