Lula’s Last Show

Hello my friends, Spot here!

So as you all probably know by now, Lula went to her last ever competitive show yesterday. It is a shame as she very much loves to go out and show off her spots, but my mummy said you have to know when to call it a day. The fact is that, although Lula had a stunning early career – she went from no title to Imperial Grand Premier in almost straight shows, and achieved that title before she was two years old – when she moved into the Olympian classes, she was then up against every other breed and just didn’t shine like she had done previously. At least not to the judges anyway.

After two years of this, it becomes very disheartening (to the hoomins as Lula didn’t care 😆 ) to enter her into shows where she didn’t even win a reserve, though more often than not she did win Best of Breed 🙂 Yesterday’s show was one of our very favourite judges, and even she didn’t award the title, so that just made it clear the decision had been the right one 🙂

As you can see from a couple of pics yesterday, Lula took it all in her stride as normal 🙂

This first pic was taken by our good friend, Clare, there is a judge next to the pen but Lula was so chilled out, she didn’t even realise 😆 The blue thing on the top is the fan to keep her cool 🙂

She did manage to stay awake for some of the show though 🙂 Here she is posing for daddy 🙂

So now we thought it would be lovely to take this opportunity to look back at some of our favourite show pics of Lula and reminisce with you all 🙂

Here’s Lula at her very first show when she was just 5 months old

Then, just over a month later, she went to the Supreme for the first time!

We skip a few months to the following summer, Lula had sailed through her Premier title classes by then and was at her first Bengal Cat Club show where she not only won a Grand certificate, but also Best of Breed! But it was not going to stop there!

She then went on to win Best in Show Neuter Female, and then even better than that, she beat her Uncle BooBoo (who was BiS Neuter Male) to win Overall Best in Show Neuter! Wow!

She won a few trophies that day! (though the little one in the middle is the one I won! 🙂 )

She soon got to Grand Premier level, so marched on to her first Imperial Grand Premier title, back again at Tabby Cat Club!

Next up it was the Supreme again where she won her second Imperial!

There was no stopping her as she got her 3rd Imperial at The National Cat Club, just before Christmas!

So then in the new year, Imperial number four came from our home show, The Shropshire Cat Club Show

And her final Imperial, the one needed to claim the title, was at Cambridgeshire & Bedfordshire joint show in April

Being as we don’t have any pics of her with her rosettes at that show, here’s me with mine! (I did even better as I was awarded Best in Show Foreign Neuter! 😆 )

So there we have it. The end of an era. But a new one has begun already! Now we need to look onwards and upwards and focus on the future and two little brown peskies who still have their show careers ahead of them, as long as they continue to enjoy it of course 🙂

Take care my friends!
Love from Spot
