Hello my friends, Spot here!
So the big day has come and gone for another year – yes we were at the Supreme Cat Show yesterday, the largest in our show calendar 🙂
The day started off very early with mummy and daddy waking us up at 4am 😯 Yes you read that right – 4am! Lula, Friday and Robbie were on their toes straight away, but Harry and I decided we weren’t getting up that early, thanks very much! We only got up when the breakfast bowls began to get filled 😆
Then after the hoomins finally got ready (what takes them soooo long?), Lula and I jumped into our carriers and off we went in the car to the NEC at Birmingham. We got there very early, at about 6:30am, and joined the queue for vetting in – yes there was already a queue at that time though we were quite near the front of it!
Just after 7am the doors opened to allow us to get vetted in (the queue behind us was very long by this time) and we went to find Sue amongst the 15 or so vets who were there so she could look at us 🙂 All cats entered in either the show itself or on exhibition have to be checked over by a vet before they’re allowed in – this is to make sure they have no infectious diseases or fleas or things like that 🙂 They also check that all vaccination certificates are up to date 🙂
Sue, our breeder, is the chief veterinary organiser and makes sure all the vets are invited and know what to do. Of course, we passed vetting in with flying colours and went into the hall where we found our pens. Â Luckily we weren’t too far from each other, even though Lula was next to the stall and I was in the area where all the competing cats were.
So daddy looked after me while Lula and mummy (OK, so it was more mummy) set up the stall – it takes a good couple of hours to do, but Lula made sure she supervised well 🙂
Then, at 9am the doors were open to the public and not too long after that it was time for me to be judged! I was in a class with 4 other cats, including our older brother, Star! He has the same cat mummy and daddy but was born a year or so before us 🙂
The judge was very thorough and checked over all 5 cats very carefully
But then she made her decision and she started off with 5th place (which went to Star), and then 4th, and then 3rd – me! 🙂 My mummy and daddy were very proud of me as I had been so well behaved and didn’t make lots of noise like Lula would have done 🙂
Cats are only entered into one class in the Supreme, so that was my work done for the day! 🙂 Meanwhile, Lula was doing a good job helping out on the stall
And she was even allowed to explore a little bit of the hall!
I had lots and lots of wonderful friends come to see me (they also went to see Lula as well) 🙂
And some of them even bought me treats!
But then, after a whirlwind day, it was time to pack up and go home and get some much-needed rest! Until next year! We will almost certainly go to other shows before then, but none are at all like the special Supreme!
Take care my friends!
Love from Spot xxxxxx
Well done Spot for winning 3rd prize and well done to Lula for helping out on the stand with Mummy. 🙂 Get some well earned rest now after telling the others all about your day. xxx
Oooh yes! We’ve had lots of sleeps today, Pauline 😎 xxx
I love reading all about the details behind your shows. You’re my #1 kitteh Spot, don’t care what the judges think ♥
Thanks very much, June! We do quite like that judge, she is very fair xxx
No offence intended about the judge. After all, I don’t know the first thing about judging a show of any kind!
Oooh! None taken 😉 We knew and appreciated what you meant xxx
Hi spot!
I have read through the page and then noticed I was in the picture with you (friends of bengal cat world). It was such an amazing day yesterday and you and Lula looked stunning! Can’t wait to attend the next show in the calendar. (: x
Hello Laura! You are famous now <3 We loved seeing you and all our friends 😀 xxx
Love the way your pen was decorated, so tasteful. But loved even more to see that gorgeous rosette, such a proud addition to your collection. Congratulations – both to you and your Mum and Dad for their work in presenting you in such fine form.
As for Lula, she obviously did great work in attracting a lot of fans to Mum’s stand . Hope there were lots of sales so that many people went home with some of the marvellous goodies on offer.
The stand was busy all day long, Mavis – my mummy said she didn’t get a chance to sit down all day, let alone eat much, and was very tired by the time she got home – but we all enjoyed every minute of it <3 xxx
That was such fun hearing about your day at the big show, Spot, and seeing the great photos. It’s almost like being there with you. I can see that it must be a tremendous amount of work. It would be such fun to attend one someday. Congratulations on your ribbon/award! Mummy and Daddy must be very proud of you and Lula. Your friend, Linda xxxxx
Thank you so much, Linda! My mummy and daddy are very proud, particularly as it was my first time at the Supreme! (Lula has been 3 times now!) xxxxxxxx

There’s only one class for kitties at the Supreme, so I only got the one, Paul 😆 xxxx
Loved reading your blog and seeing all the fabulous pics of you and Lula. You may have come 3rd in the show but you and Lula are definitely joint 1st in your fans estimation. Is this the only show where you and Lula are both there? I will try to get to Birmingham next year, I’d love to see you both ‘in the fur’ lol xx ♥ ♥
Thanks, Edna! We often go to shows together, it depends on who the judges are and whether or not my mummy likes them 🙂 The next show we’re going to is on the 21st December and we will both be going to that one 🙂 After that, we’ll probably both go to one that’s in early Feb 🙂 xxxxxx
Hi Spot we loved reading about the Cat Show. You had to be up very early! Mummy says next year she book the train she has Afternoon Tea at the Ritz in London with her friend this week but I don’t know what that is 🙂 I wonder if she’ll see Street Cat Bob & James in London. Love Anyah <3 <3
Oooh! That sounds exciting! We hope your mummy enjoys her afternoon at the Ritz! <3 xxxxxx
Aww Spot I´m a bit sad that the judges didn´t see what a beautiful boy you are! I think you should´ve won all of it! But you did great by getting a 3rd place!
