Hello my friends, Spot here!
Oooh! We’re getting excited now, we can almost smell all the yummy Christmas treats our mummy and daddy will surely be giving us! 🙂 Are you all prepared for the big day?
Time for another of our kitty phrases and here’s the pic to illustrate it:
You’ve guessed it – today’s phrase is Cool Cats! 🙂 This term came about in the roaring 20s and was taken up by the jazz scene in the 40s too. It’s quite appropriate we think that cats are used to describe cool people because we are such cool dudes ourselves! 😆 Similar phrases also came about around the same time: Ideas that were truly too cool for words were described as the cat’s meow and sometimes as the cat’s pyjamas, though nobody seems to know why those phrases were created! 🙂
One of my mummy’s favourite bands from years gone by also had a great song along this theme: Squeeze “Cool for Cats”. Phew! You hoomins certainly know how to recognise our feline superiority! 🙂
